China, Japan, ROK to hold logistics forum in Beijing November

China Logistics Development and International Cooperation Summit to be held on Nov. 4 to 5, according to a senior official of the Ministry of Commerce (MOC) Wednesday.

Officials and enterprisers from China, Japan and the Republic of Korea (ROK) will attend the meeting.

Di Jiankai, director of the MOC department of commercial reform and development, said to hold the forum is to carry the consensus that the heads of the three governments reached last October in Indonesia at the "10+3" meeting.

Main topics of the forum are China's logistics investment environment, cooperation on logistics among China, Japan, ROK and northeast Asia and the informationization and standardization of China's logistics.

According to Di, this is the first international meeting on logistics since the MOC was founded in March 2003. Bo Xilai, Chinese minister of commerce, will address the opening ceremony and Zhang Zhigang, vice minister of commerce, will deliver a key-note speech.

China International Freight Forwarders Association is organizing the forum.
