One militant of the outlawed Kurdish Workers' Party (PKK) was killed in a clash with security forces in eastern Turkey on Wednesday, the semi-official Anatolia News Agency reported.
Turkish security forces clashed with a group of PKK members near Atacinar village in Mazgirt town of Tunceli province and shot dead one PKK member, said the report.
An operation in pursuit of other PKK members is still underway in the region, added the report.
The PKK, with 4,000-5,000 militants, had been fighting since 1984 for a Kurdish homeland covering southeastern Turkey, northern Iraq as well as parts of Iran and Syria.
Violence subdued significantly after PKK commander Abdullah Ocalan was captured in 1999, but was on the rise again after the group called off a unilateral ceasefire in 2004.
The Turkish government refuses to negotiate with the group, listing it as a terrorist organization.
