U.S. President George W. Bush said on Tuesday that U.S. ambassador to Iraq Zalmay Khalilzad will make clear U.S. concerns about Iran's alleged involvement in Iraq in talks with the country.
At a White House press conference, Bush said that he authorized Khalilzad to make clear to the Iranians "that attempts to spread sectarian violence or to maybe move parts that could be used for IEDs (improvised explosive devices) is unacceptable to the United States."
"And so this is a way for us to make it clear to them that -- about what's right or wrong in their activities inside of Iraq," Bush said.
The White House said on March 16 that it was prepared to talk with Iran about Iraq, but the discussion would be limited to Iraqi issue only.
The United States has accused Iran of meddling in Iraq's internal affairs and supporting insurgents in Iraq.
