Xinjiang steps up crime crackdown

Police in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region will "strike hard" at criminals during a security campaign aimed at wiping out lawlessness and continuing the hunt for people who took part in the deadly riots in the capital, Urumqi, four months ago. The campaign will continue until the end of the year.
