Several Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) veterans in Zhengzhou, central China's Henan province, recently put their military medals up for sale to raise money for their TV series, reported People.com.cn.

The veterans need funding to finish shooting their TV series which are designed to commemorate their former comrades-in-arm who died in battles liberating the city of Zhengzhou during China's War of Liberation from 1945 to 1949, according to the report.

The Veterans went to an urban square in Zhengzhou to sell 33 military medals for a total of 50,000 yuan, or about 7,353 U.S. dollars. The medals were awarded during China's War of Liberation, the Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945) and the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953).
